Alex Guira – Managing Partner
Alex has more than twenty years of experience in the formation, operation and investment in fast growing technology companies. Most recently, Alex was the co-head of Investcorp’s Technology Investment Group, where he led the U.S. deployment of $1.2 billion of AUM across three funds. Alex founded the group in 2000, was responsible for the day-day operations and oversight of 16 professionals, and led all third party fund raising. He was also a member of Investcorp International’s management committee, overseeing the firm’s $11 billion of AUM, as well as participating on the investment committee for the firm’s Corporate Investment, Real Estate, and Hedge Fund groups.
Previously, Alex worked at Scoggin Capital, a NY-based hedge fund and the Mergers & Acquisitions group at Drexel Burnham Lambert.
Education| Alex graduated from Brown University with a B.A in Business Economics.
Jay Markley – Managing Partner
Jay has more than twenty years of industry experience beginning in 1994 at the Federal Communications Commission, where he established wireless industry policy for the first spectrum auctions. Jay left the FCC in 1996 and joined Columbia Capital where he applied his industry expertise to principal investing. He served in various capacities at Columbia for twelve years, including as a partner, venture partner and portfolio company executive. In the past five years he has participated in the development of three sector-leading companies as a Board Member and investor.
Jay currently serves as Chairman of the Board of BroadSoft (NASDAQ:BSFT), a leading communications software vendor, and was previously an independent board member of Millennial Media (NYSE:MM), the largest independent mobile advertising platform. He invested in these companies as the first institutional investor and guided them through growth to successful public offerings.
Jay also is a Board Member of Charter Communications (NASDAQ:CHTR), which has become a leading performer in the cable industry since its emergence from bankruptcy in 2009.
Education| Jay received an M.B.A from Harvard University and a B.A. from Washington & Lee University.
Andy Roos – Partner
Andy joined New Amsterdam Growth Capital in 2013. Prior to joining NAGC, Andy worked at Boodell & Company and was an Investment Analyst in the Special Clients Group of J.P. Morgan Asset Management.
Education| Andy received a B.S. from the University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce, with concentrations in Finance and Management.
